Good News.
Following on from @proxos666 link, as Clean Boot worked, by process of elimination I narrowed the search down to one item. It appears that the problem was the ironically named Asus Game First programme. As far as I know I have never used this program but I think it was included with the motherboard installation DVD and I installed more or less everything on that DVD. I may have opened the programme to have a look but don't think I did anything with it.
Anyway, I disabled the Game First service, restarted PC and all ok with EA games including SWBF, Battlefield 4 etc. I then uninstalled the Game first programme and so far no problems since with any games loading or getting online so I think it's time to press the problem solved button!
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for sticking with the problem and helping me fix it. I have no idea why GameFirst would affect Origin but not Steam but there is no way I would have found it was a problem without the help you gave me.
With the CBS error fixed I finally have a fully functional Windows 10 running and a problem free Origin working properly as well for the first time!
It's great that you take the time to help people like me and I really appreciate it - hopefully it will help others who stumble across this post as well!
