    @dr_jim So I figured it out when you said you had a razer naga. I'm also using an MMO mouse (corsair) and I wondered if your habits were similar to mine. Try this:

    Hold down 3 for the pull and WHILE your doing it, press 2 for the push on your keyboard. Also works if you just use the keyboard. Don't try to release the pull and quickly push.

@dr_jim I had the same issue, and like others mentioned i was able to walk up to the pillar and get it to trigger the burn without throwing it, the pull/push randomly changing directions unless you're on a ledge thing is super annoying.
