Re: Base Command (SWBF companion) broken

Hello there!

I contacted EA help on Facebook, and was asked to relay the message to the SWBF team using this forum, so here goes:

I recently purchased Star Wars Battlefront on Steam and have enjoyed playing it so far. My problem lies with the Star Wars Battlefront Companion, or "Base Command" as it is sometimes referred to. Base Command is the companion app / website for Star Wars Battlefront and is used to monitor your progress, purchase skins, and earn in-game credits by completing strategy levels.

Although Base Command accurately displays the unlocks I've earned by playing Star Wars Battlefront, (Such as Blasters & Star Cards.) It does not allow me to use it to purchase any new items, even though I have both the required rank, and enough credits. The button appears grayed out, as can be seen in attachment #1.

In addition, the credits I've earned in the companion amount to some 35,505 as can be seen in attachment #2. However, my in game credits only add up to 1,850, which can be seen in attachment #3 and clearly shows that credits are not transferring as intended.

My first guess upon realizing this inconsistency, was that credits earned in base command before Star Wars Battlefront was purchased did not transfer over. But upon completing another Base Command level after I had purchased the game, and not being awarded any credits, I soon realized that this was not the case. My second guess was that perhaps the servers for the Companion had been shut down, and the game in losing It's connection, was unable to reward me with my credits. But I realized that my second guess was just as incorrect as my first, because as stated earlier, the companion still accurately displays the blasters, star cards, and skins that I own, and furthermore, I was awarded a diorama figure upon first opening the game for achieving the following: "In Base Command, achieve a 3-star rating on the first siege in the Rebel campaign."

Given what I've just presented, It's quite obvious that the companion can still receive information from Star Wars Battlefront, and vice versa, but for some reason, the credits I earned in Base Command have failed to transfer, and I am not given the ability to use said credits to purchase skins, blasters, or any of the other in-game unlocks through the Star Wars Battlefront Companion.

In summary, It would be most appreciated if the fine folks at EA would fully repair the connection between the companion and the base game, or at the very least allow credits to still transfer. Thank you, and have a great day.

P.S. Just in case you weren't already aware, Base Command on PC can be found here: https://api.battlefront.dice.se/starwars/battlefront/companion/home

  • I've tried their Twitter and Facebook support.  We have multiple threads here, but you're right.  That companion game was awesome, and it's a shame they made it inaccessible.

C'mon EA, just activate it.  Put a banner ad on it.  That's fine, just let us play the game again.

You won't even fix the Android version, which hasn't worked in a couple years either.

I also would like to see this issue fixed.

Thanks for posting that website - but it doesn't allow me to log in or sign up.
