Does this happen no matter what key you're attempting to bind it with?

Are you attempting to bind it to a key already in use by chance?

Solved it. I unattached the key for "Force Attack" on the keyboard which surprisingly made attaching a key/button on the controller possible. Doesn't make much sense since every other attack/control is attached to a keyboard key and it still lets me attach a controller key but at least it's working now. Thanks for replying anyway @EA_Cade !
