Refund
I have no idea what I was thinking. I guess I thought that maybe, just maybe, EA was going to release a game that was even remotely decent. And hey, it's built off the back of 2 of my favorite shooters of all time, Battlefront 1 and 2.
Boy, I have never been more wrong.
Anywho, played a couple rounds of multiplayer, the half-battlefield-painted-Star-Wars-cash-grab thing isn't really doing it for me. I would quite literally rather pull my own fingernails off with a set of needle nose pliers. I've gone all the way through the refund process, up to "Step 4: Contact us", where all I see in large text is "how would you like to contact us?". That's it. No dropdown menu, nothing. Now, I know that the policy will only grant refunds within 24 hours of first playing the game. I also know that I am going to have to fight tooth and nail to get this refund, since EA has even gone as far as to completely remove any type of over the phone support that would require them to directly communicate with their playerbase poor, lost souls that were unfortunate enough to convince themselves this game might be even the slightest bit playable.
The way I see it, one of two things is going to happen. Assuming there is some type of divine intervention, and this post is responded to by one of the thousands of EA employees that get paid to perform unsanctioned colorectal surgery on it's customers, hopefully I'll be pointed in the right direction to actually receiving my refund. If not, I'll just end up another disgruntled customer crushed under the treads of what has become a giant, metal, currency-powered leviathan of a "development company".
