Running Star Wars Battlefront with Intel HD Graphics

I have a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and I would like to run Star Wars Battlefront (2015) on it. I understand that these Intel integrated graphics are not designed for gaming, and that my computer is well under the game requirements. When I attempt to launch the game, I get a warning that my Intel driver (10.18.10.4425) is outdated and needs update, although I am already using the latest driver from the Intel website. It says I need the driver version xx.xx.14.4264, but this version does not exist. It also gives me an option to run the game anyway, but that I may experience gameplay issues. When I try to run the game anyway, the game is a black screen, and sometimes crashes.  I am not concerned that the game will run at a low FPS, but I just want it to be able to launch and run. I have seen YouTube videos of the game running with the HD 4000, but they do not have working fixes.

You will not be able to play with your current hardware as you already know it does not meet the system requirements:

    Minimum PC System Requirements:
    OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
    Memory: 8GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

So is it not physically possible to run on this hardware? I run a few other games below minimum requirements and they will launch and run.

It really is game dependent and sometimes, with some games, you may be able to play with borderline below spec hardware but that does not appear to be the case here as your hardware is significantly below the requirements.

  • Would an Intel UHD Graphics 620 work on star wars battlefront 2?
