Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition keyboard not working

The game is unresponsive to my keyboard, stuck at "Press Space to Start." My keyboard is working fine, though, as the windows key brings up the windows start menu during the game and moves the game to a small window while the start menu is up. I've disabled all overlays (EA, Steam & Graphics card) with no luck. I've also tried -dxlevel 110 command arguments in Steam (per a steam discussion board) but without success. I have Star Wars Battlefront II on the same machine which works without any modifications. I've tried a clean boot, but not finding success there, either.
