The EA customer service rep I reached out to was really not any help at all, but he was trying his best. It became apparent to me very quickly that he was not well versed in computers. I was trying to explain to him why ROG Live Service is not a Cheat. It is a background process that looks to make sure that all my ROG peripherals are up to date. I even shared this with the customer rep and he finally started to get it (I think). https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041654/ He did encourage me to make this post so I thank him for that.
I am an attorney licensed in Michigan (but I did not mention that to the rep. I tried to explain that ASUS and their ROG division are among the foremost if not the foremost computer, computer component, and computer peripherals manufacturers in the world. That was about the end of our conversation. If ROG engaged in creating cheats, they would be sued by so many different parties that ASUS would become a subsidiary of another mega-corporation in short order. I really am glad to see that EA is really trying to up the anti-cheat because the anti-cheat is so bad in BFV that I deleted the game. The cheaters have ruined the game. But EA has not stepped up on the anti-cheat for BFV and that need to do so rapidly, but that is not the issue for this post.
Anyways, anybody on the EA team has competency with computing and software should quickly realize that ROG Live Service is clearly not a cheat program. I mean the name of the process should give anyone with any sense about computers that this not a cheat. Although I have never engaged in computer cheating (because it ruins the fun for everyone and if you cheat you really aren't that good; I really don't understand a cheaters mentality, but whatever) and I have no idea how hacks and cheats work. Maybe they can be hidden and given a legitimate names like ROG Live Service. I just don't know. However, I guarantee you this is not a cheat. I did explain to the person at EA help chat that my desktop computer is an almost entirely ROG build. I use the ASUS ROG Centurion 7.1 headset, I have a ROG Horus gaming keyboard, I have a ROG Spatha gaming mouse, I have a ROG Rampage V Exbtreme motherboard, a ROG monitor (PG35vq), the ROG aura synch program, a GTX 1080 Ti ASUS ROG video card. I am not exactly sure what updates ROG Live service looks for, but I am almost certain that if loos for updates for my mouse. So can you please fix this bug and do it quickly Please see the attached picture, which I did share with the EA help chat representative Again, I am very grateful that EA has stepped up their anti-cheat software, but unfortunately its apparently a little over the top. So that thank you for that. Please see the attached picture of my computer screen when I get the error. I did share this with the EA Help Chat representative.
In the mean time I guess I am going to have to uninstall the live service, stopping the process doesn't work because it just reactivates itself. Thank you for your time, but I would really like to see this fixed as quickly as possible.
