Stuck in Tomb of Miktrull because of bugged vine

Bought the game recently, when I first reached the Tomb of Miktrull and got force pull, I got stuck in the room immediately afterwards because the vine wouldn't react when I used force pull on it. I ...

are you holding down the force pull button, or just tapping it? make sure you hold it down until you grab the vine.
