Here's a solution that worked for me:
You need to force push all of the blaster troopers off of the sarcophagus while leaving the scout/baton trooper up there. Then go back and save/rest to respawn all the blaster troopers.
Voila - the dropship now spawned again for me.
What an odd glitch - I thought the game was broken.
