SW Squadrons - Steam - Not Launching - (Shows EAC screen loads bar then nothing)

Got star wars squadrons on steam recently for the first time. Downloaded the game, tried to launch loads the EAC screen then nothing no error output no further execution. Found this video that is 1 to 1 what is happening with me. Follwed several guides, forums, etc all which date back to the games original launch including one linked in the comments of the video linked to no avail. List of things I have tried:

  • Allowing EAC, SWsquadronslauncher.exe, and SWsquadrons.exe to all run with administrator privileges
  • Verify Integrity of files
  • uninstall and reinstall the game
  • Attempted to launch using SWsquadrons.exe rather than launcher
  • Changed name of  SWsquadrons.exe to SWsquadronslauncher.exe and SWsquadronslauncher.exe to __SWsquadronslauncher.exe and tried launching again
  • Using EAC launcher to repair/reinstall files
  • update all my drivers using DriverEasy
  • Updating my graphics cards drivers using AMD radeon
  • Turning off my Antivirus (Windows Defender) and making SW squadrons and exception
  • Uninstalled origin, SW battlefront 2 and reinstalled
  • Changed my EA/origin and steam passwords and signing back into my pc (someone on reddit suggested)
  • Deleting files within the local game files then using steam to resintall them after a local file verify check
  • Doing a clean boot with my PC using System config following a guide by EA

At this point I was starting to give up so reached out to EA support but shortly gave up due to being told to wait for an update. Currently have reached out to the EA help twitter and started talking there and am now posting here. I would like to note that I had origin before installing Squadrons as well as I regularly play SW battlefront 2 with aesthetic mods this is the first time I have had this issue with and game. I installed Squadrons on another old pc and it booted perfectly fine no problems and that pc is mostly empty with maybe a game or 2 for friends. My current theory is something in relation to EAC but idk.Thank you for reading and support in advance.

  • Fixed this problem.

Turns out it was star wars battlefront 2 mods interfering with the easy anti cheat somehow idk don't ask me.

Figured it out cause I wiped my computer cause I got a new SSD and tried it again it stopped running after I fixed all my bf2 mods.

If I want to run squadrons I just turn off my mods for swbf2

I use the frosty mod manager

Hey @Jo_Bidone Thanks for providing all of this! would it be possible to grab a DxDiag real quick and we can take a further look?

  • Was this ever resolved?  I've been having this issue for some time, but recently got the itch to try again, and it persists.

  • idk I guess cry.

My guess is something interfering with the anti cheat probably related to origin or EA play or whatever they call it.

Maybe there is another game/game files that's interfering with it.
