Why flying in VR and locking a target of any type you do NOT get the white box locking them so no way to know where they are. Also the red dots showing incoming enemies are in the wrong place and again no where near the targets. Virtually all HUD elements in VR are not where they should be.
Works fine outside of VR, but in VR the target box is way off center to the left. Have tried removing/re-installing SteamVR and drivers. Have tried resetting seated view and the "-" button in game does not fix either.
No other graphical/performance issues on my end besides this one.
Same things here - re-ran Steam VR Room Setup, tried facing the headset toward myself and away. Have seen everyone save for Oculus users report this on the Steam forums (not saying Oculus headsets are working perfectly necessarily, just haven't seen a report there).
So it's clearly not just Windows MR if an Index is having the issue as well. Really sucks as while it's good in 2D once you've played in VR you just can't go back.
The original poster is running an Oculus. I'm running into this issue with these specs. The only commonality I see with OP is that we both have MSI mobos
VR === HP Reverb G2
GPU === MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT DirectX 12 RX 5700 XT GAMING X 8GB 256-Bit GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

I just turned the HUD completely off in settings and am targeting using the scanner only - it's a LOT harder and really annoying but it does at least work. I just hope this is fixed soon as I've tried everything I can think of.
- Reinstall Steam VR
- Reinstall Windows MR
- Run setup for both
- Tried setting up my headset facing both directions during Steam VR
- Sat facing backwards in my chair, reset the view (nada)
So at this point it's got to be a bug somewhere given the number of players I've seen with it. That's what I get for playing a day 1 version.
- Resetting up Seated in Steam VR - Setup Room Scale in Steam VR - Removed Steam VR, reinstalled - Removed Windows MR connector, reinstalled - Removed WIndows MR, reinstalled - Tried betas for both Steam VR and Win MR connectors - Tried multiple desktop resolutions - Tried multiple different monitors (32:9, 16:9 1600p, 16:9 1080p) - Played via Origin Access (still uses Steam VR) - Tried sitting in my chair backwards and re-centering my headset (that was pleasant)
- Rebooted after updating video driver - Tried starting without SteamVR already running - Tried LOWEST graphic quality
- Tried with several refresh rates for the desktop window
As an old-timer I find it a fun challenge to go all instruments, but it's a disadvantage. All instruments doesn't get rid of the targeting square which is the only place to visually see your missle lock.
I'm having the exact same issue. The HUD elements that point to objectives, enemies, targets, whatever all move in the opposite direction of my head movements, so if I move my head to the right, the HUD elements move left. They all point somewhere but not where they should. Makes it very difficult to find things and impossible during dogfights.

Checked some other threads and the Steam forum, then saw this in "Known Issues" on this forum:
VR
(Oct 2) When using VR on steam, the user may not be able to see the UI if the game is in Fullscreen mode
It got me to start messing with the Screen Settings -- which are only supposed to change the 2D computer monitor image. Switching it to Windowed mode made the floating target bracket move to the right! I started switching around more modes, moving to a second screen (which I don't have) and finally settled on CHANGING RESOLUTION -- again, NOT for VR.
I got my brackets to CENTER by using 1,920 X 1,440. (My monitor is 2560 X 1440).
They still FLOAT AROUND when you move your head -- totally negating the whole concept of VR situational awareness -- but at least when you're zeroing in on a target with your head straight on your crosshairs, it is centered. It still doesn't work for a group of ships in the distance -- you can't tell which one you're locked on. It still makes me cross-eyes because the bracket is "closer" to me on the VR plane. But at least you get your green missile lock when you're close. Speaking of missile lock:
CLUSTER MISSILE LOCK WORKS. No floating green bracket when you've locked on with cluster missiles. The bracket is stuck on the ship as it should be -- in the distant plane of the VR image than the other brackets.
So, still busted. It's like they're using a different overlay that is somehow tied to the 2D render. But the cluster missile lock shows that the targeting can work the way it should.
SCREENSHOTS:
1) MY SETTINGS for centered target brackets -- yours may be different:
@ScribeJC That weird. When I get mine to work it works correctly, i.e. no floating target. I also don't need to mess with 2D resolution. I don't know if my "solution" is actually making a difference, or if relaunching multiple times is what's working for me (see post #11).
