TrackIR support?
If SQUADRONS wants to move away from arcade push button Gamepad flying, it NEEDS to offer Flight stick/HOTAS support and TrackIR/VR support. Not to mention the shown micro management, we all loved i...
There's are thousands of people with VR that doesn't work, how many simps bought a £200 infared cheap * clip and camera from NaturalPoint that's not been updated since it was made and costs as much as some VR headsets lol... There are 1000x more people with VR issues that need fixing than the 5 people in the world with track IR or it's chinese knockoff... we can't even play above 60 fps and you want them to spend time on this? that only benefits 40% of ships in the game and lets be honest is not even needed in star wars it's not DCS or SC and even SC is spending tons developing it's webcam headtracking software because that few people use it.
Your brain cannot even interpret a frame rate over 60 with any real noticeable difference.
That argument is moot.
Track IR support is not expensive. It's not revolutionary anymore, either. It's as basic to space and flight sims, as mouse support is to Doom.
Players in VR or Console get situational awareness boons from being able to swivel their heads in game, and immersion points, if you're scoring. PC gamers get a forward-facing, 90's style arcade game with 2020 graphics.
A huge element of the game does not work for PC players right now, and they spent a lot of money making it compatible with the PC platform. Why would you build that compatibility, to exclude such a basic element?
Track IR has a massive following, it isn't a niche market. It's simply another form of immersion, similar to VR, for people who prefer not to use a headset. Many folks with glasses, or the need to remain situationally aware of their real-life surroundings, rely on Track IR tech to provide immersion in their simming. It's an accessibility feature, as much as a cool feature. They spent so much money adding color-blind filters, text to speech options, voice-over narration of menus....but they didn't add support for Track IR?
I'm guessing they'll add it soon, it would be a silly business decision to make a game compatible with PC, only to drop support for the PC market on launch. Why bother in the first place?
omg here we go the console players... if my game is 30 fps i can't play it, if its 60 i can tell its 60, if i play at 100 i can see and feel it, if i play at 165 on my monitor i can see and feel it. stop with your nonsense brain can't see over 60 fps crap. a car doing 140 past you on motorway doesn't ghost and stutter does it... 1 fps lags, 60 is smooth ish, 165 is super smooth, you can tell if you can;t you were starved of oxygen for longer than 3 min at birth.
