Unexpected error 0xC0020015

Trying to launch the trail for Squadrons via EA Play on PC but after starting trial I get a dialogue box with 'Unexpected Error 0xC0020015' and only have an option to close the message and get returned back to Play. Checking a couple of things online suggests possible Easy Anti-Cheat issue but not sure where to go loooking for it.

edit: have tried repairing the install with no success, located EasyCheat and ran that, only listed Game is 'Game 474', tried whatever the Repair option does within it that but it didn't work.

edit 2: have tried allowing both Squadrons and Easy Anti-Cheat through BitDefender and Windows Firewall but the problem remains the same.

    Hi Guys, 

    I solved it for me. 

    I had the same problems.

    Reinstalled and installed easycheat.

    Still same errors. 

    Then i have deactivated the Live Protection from Spybot- Search and Destroy.

    That solved the problem. 

    Maybe you have installed it too or similar malwarebytes. 

    Check your virus app to.

    Just to update that the patch that just went in did not resolve this issue. I have tried reinstalling the game and uninstalling and reinstalling EasyCheat, allowing both through firewall, disabling Spybot and installing Visual C++ redists.

    I'm having this error now. Haven't played in a couple weeks and it ran fine before. All i have is Free Avast virus protection.

    I've figured it out entirely!  You don't have to fully disable live protection for Search and Destroy.  Just disable the 'scan programs before launching' option!
