VR still crash after patch with Oculus Rift S

After the small "VR Stability" patch, I have had no change. System still crashes upon pressing switch to VR.

Would sending these crashdump files to someone help isolate the issue? I am more than willing to help and provide what info I can on my end.

The few minutes I got to spend in a Tie cockpit while in VR was one of the best gaming moments I ever experienced. Once the bugs and kinks are worked out. I have no doubt I will be spending hundreds of hours in this game. 🙂

  • @GaryPie Hang in there. I was able to play through the prolog on my Oculus Rift S - Epic settings last night.

It was the greatest gaming experience I have ever had.

Let me know if I can help you. Maybe you could start by letting me know what you have done to trouble shoot it so far.

@CA1-PAINLESS Here is everything I have tried.

    windowed
    borderless
I unplugged all monitors except primary
    disabled overlay
    Origin - Specific to SWS
    Steam completely closed out
    GeForce Experience overlay disabled
    Discord overlay disabled
Adjust graphic settings from Auto, down to low and same issue at each step.
Disabled G-Sync and set refresh to 60hz
should have no impact on VR but worth a shot.. still nothing
load Oculus 1st and Activate headset
    Then load Origin
    then load SWS
switch to VR in menu (10 percent chance this work on a clean boot and crashes when I load story mode)
I've also loaded story mission then once in cockpit switch over to VR. This results in instant crash to desktop 100% of time
    Loaded SWS 1st
    Press VR button
This causes the Oculus software to load and immediately crash SWS
removed Nvidia driver and clean installed - still same issues
removed all Oculus software and re installed - Still same issue
removed Origin and reinstalled - Same issue
I am open to suggestions. What more can I try?

    Still can not play.

    i7 6700k

    1080Ti (456.55)

    16gb ddr4 RAM

installed on a SSD Samsung EVO

Oculus Rift S (firmware and app version are all current)
  • Yeah my vr doesn’t crash the game for me it simply won’t start the vr.  When I try to toggle over the screen goes dark for a bit then comes back but nothing in vr headset.
