Not only do I have this problem, but the entire menu after the splash screen is practically frozen. It takes several seconds to register input, such as moving the mouse or hovering over a button. But when I disconnect my computer from the internet, everything becomes instantaneously responsive. Which given the nature of this game, isn't exactly a boatload of help.
Hopefully there's a fix rolled out for this soon
