This is incredibly random, but someone just posted on Reddit a fix that suddenly got my force pull working again. TLDR: go to your map, create a beacon, then hold to remove all beacons, switch to galaxy map and come back into game.

If I remove the beacon, how will it help open the doors? In mission "singing ruins"
