Interesting.
I don't doubt there may be problems with the software. However, if you're waiting for the Dev's to fix this particular problem for you, I wouldn't hold my breath.
The first thing you should do is ask if anyone else has had the same error and right now most people are playing the game and not getting this crash while optimizing files.
Not sure how far through the optimization files it gets, but the program seems to be searching for a file and not finding it.
You said you verified your files, which is a Steam thing. Did you use the repair function on the EA launcher?
If that doesn't work, some more information about what happened with your computer when it stopped launching would help. Because you said the game was functional before something happened to make it non-functional.
Maybe the program is having problems finding the files on multiple drives? Putting everything on a single drive might be help . . . but this is time consuming task . . .
I'm pretty sure that the optimization process accesses a ton of files and during that process the program can't find the file it's trying to find on your system. Without that file the program will crash.

No, as i wrote, verified by Steam, where I bought it
So I can't repair it by EA (cr)App.
I know it is redudant to write what I feel about a very expensive faulty game, but I do not care, it is not the first time, we users never learn ☹️
What happened with my computer was that the optimizing files screen died and the nice send crash report window appeared.
Well, it was working, but then it was not. It might be from scetchy drivers from Nvidia, but not sure it will work installing some 10 month old ones either.
I could re-install EA App on my Game drive, not that I think that would work.
I do not even know where I am in the game or how far I have gotten.
A lot of folks seem to have similar problems, but I have yet to see the solution.
Anybody got one?
