Yeah, it's unplayable in performance mode. Quality mode is smoother without tearing but still drops frames when walking through water on Koboh. Please devs make ray tracing optional so at least some of these problems are solved.
The game is set to performance and the frame rate is definitely no where near 60 FPS. As soon as you get in an open area or with of particle effects around, it drops to 30 and lower!!! Screen tearing is all over the place and it happens randomly.
No day one patch? Are these being addressed in an update?
It is such a beautiful game and these issues are ruining the experience to a point where I stopped playing 😰

Summarize your bug Frame rate issues on performance mode
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Playing on PS5 digital edition while performance mode is on, especially in the first and the second level in almost all areas
What happens when the bug occurs? The frame rate drops drastically especially when there is a group of enemies or too many things are happening on screen
What do you expect to see? A stable 60 frames per second as described
The frame rate drops drastically especially when there is a group of enemies or too many things are happening on screen, it is never a stable 60 frames per second and not even close, it almost drops to the 30’s in some areas.
Edit: Newest update from my side, Patch 5, 6 and 6.5 didn't fix the issue, after downloading each of them I replayed the game from the beginning on each patch to test the performance and it is still the same, very unstable and low frame rates in a lot of levels on the performance mode with a lot of screen tearing, I bought this game on the day of the release for $70 and still till now 4+ months later not fixed, unbelievable EA, this is the last time I am buying any games from EA.I have a major bug. The game freezes for 10 seconds every 10 seconds. This is making the game completely unplayable. I have tried every fix and nothing has helped. Hopefully a dev can see this, because I don’t think any of the patches will fix it.Has anyone else had this issue?

Hello everyone
yesterday i played the game the i liked the gameplay but the FPS instability ruined the experience and i think many of us suffered from the same problem so I’m asking EA to fix this as soon as possible and show us why they are the best as always
- @realgamerrev Same here. I'm on PS5 and on "Performance Mode." Frame rates are horrendous in many places, especially on Koboh, in all the open areas. I'm also seeing tons of screen tearing and texture pop-in throughout the environment.
This is pretty unacceptable. Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor

Summarize your bug Frame rates are horrendous, and screen tearing and texture pop-in are abundant in this game with "Performance Mode" on. It's already noticeable on Coruscant but is especially egregious throughout the open areas of Koboh. Some areas on this planet are almost unplayable. What went wrong here? And are these massive performance and optimization issues going to be thoroughly addressed?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just run around Koboh's various open areas with Performance Mode on. A good example is Fort Kah'lin. I entered that area last night and engaged in combat. The frame rate seemed lower than 30 FPS. Most areas of this planet show diminished frame rates and screen tearing.
What happens when the bug occurs? Gameplay becomes painful with severely diminished frame rates and screen tearing. It's an eyesore. Controls feels somewhat less responsive.
What do you expect to see? Smooth, consistent 60 FPS, as any Performance Mode should provide on PS5.
This is utterly unacceptable. Please address these egregious performance and optimization issues on PS5. I can't enjoy the game's experience because of how poorly it performs.

Summarize your bug Screen tears, low FPS on performance mode, grainy graphics (looks like a ps3 game). Not suitable or acceptable for PS5. Please make playable and enjoyable on PlayStation.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game on ps5.
What happens when the bug occurs? Not a bug, the content/graphics and speed make the game unplayable.
What do you expect to see? A product that is performing at 60FPS @1440p. With detailed graphics, no grainy. If compared to games like God of War, this game is terrible and pushed through production way to fast.
Performance on PS5 is terrible. How did this classify as a next gen game?
- @nickdobratz When was last time you saw an actual PS3 game. Even with the performance problems and grainy graphics sometimes, it is much better than PS3
@kindred008 Just recently given PlayStation plus has a classics catalog? but fair. Not sure why you anchored onto the PS3 comment, that wasn’t the point. It doesn’t come close to what we should expect from a next gen game. When it can’t even hold at 60 FPS and graphics are grainy, they should have been more checks before it went to market. When you spend $70-90 on a game (depending on a version), you expect a whole lot more from the developer. Reminds me of Cyberpunk, so I guess I’ll just wait a couple years to play before it’s more enjoyable and doesn’t cause a migraine every time you play. Mind you I’m even playing on a monitor that can handle 4k @ 120hz with VRR. It should be smooth is the point. Fallen order remade for PS5 had smoother graphics than this.
Hope some patches come as I’d really like to enjoy playing it and not spend an hour trying to fix graphic settings to get to the right mix.appreciate the comment though!
