This is worth a bump to see how PC players are doing it.

On pc, I'm not that far but I have had Cal not grab when he should.
I was doing the forest array and I walked out on a metal ledge from the array, used the grabble, landed on top of metal thing under the walkway, and tried to jump to the ceiling. Cal never grabbed the ceiling that clearly had the design for grabbing, and on the other side was a force sense, I think never made it over there.
You are about to experience a lot of "not-grabbing' instances. There's a very long, very high up series of them in the second half of the game and I'm hitting the button and Cal is just dropping like a stone. Luckily I get to try until he actually reaches out.
