Character Name Change Bugged out, Lost Consumable.

Howdy,

I just came back to SWTOR after almost seven years off of it and even then I was only on for three months. Took me a bit, but I finally found the name change consumable on the Cartel Market and actually had enough coins sitting there that I went ahead and bought it as I wanted to change the name to start anew with an old character.

I used the consumable and the box appeared to change my name. Took me a bit to find an available name, but I did. However, when I clicked "yes" to officially change it, the game instantly logged me out. I thought this was fine as logging out should be required for a name change to take effect. Back at the login screen, my character's name was still the same. I log in, name is still the same, and the consumable that I purchased is no longer in my inventory.

I check everything and nothing has changed. I reloaded the entire game completely, but nothing. In short, I bought the consumable, the game screwed up, and now I am out my spent coins/cash. SWTOR no longer has a support or ticket system in place for these things and I cannot post on the SWTOR forums without subscribing first (not sure I want to at this point).

Who would I talk to about this? Is there anything EA/Bioware can do? If not, then I do not see a point to returning to a game that instantly screws me over in the first moments of me being back after seven years.
