Password exceeds maximum length
Not a major issue but a big oversight, which is why I'm posting this here. My password to log into my account has 30 characters and had 30 characters for a while now. Recently I wanted to buy a subscription again after not playing for a while and went to the SWTOR website. I am unable to log into my account on the website because my current password exceeds the length limit. I don't know when or where this happened, but at some point the maximum lenght for passwords was changed and I would now need to completely reset my password to get into my account. The best part is I can log in normally on the client and play the game. Hello, I would like to ask for help regarding a login issue that has been ongoing for 4 weeks without any improvement. What is happening The launcher does not let me log in. The website login also fails. login.swtor.com sometimes returns a “non‑existent domain” DNS error. My account is not suspended and has no restrictions. The issue happens on every device and every network I try. I have been playing SWTOR since launch and then on/off through out the years. Every time I try to login it says 'The display name, password, or security key you have entered is incorrect'. I have never changed my PW through all these years and went ahead and did just to see if it had to be updated or something. Hey I have been having some issues with getting past the Swtor loading screen ( the one before selecting servers) and I have tried everything I could think of to fix it, I've restarted my computer, set compatibility to windows 8, deleted client settings, Alt-entered to change back and forth from windowed to unwindowed, and ran as an administrator, I just got a new computer and have never had this issue before. Hey EA and Swtor community! So I recently got back to the game, been playing it since early 2012 on and off with breaks and as I got back, paid for a sub but for some reason the game won't allow me to buy coins. I get error message saying: "There was an issue connecting to EA services. Please try again later". This is driving me nuts cause I checked the payment history and I was able to buy coins without any issue on "2025-11-25 20:17 GMT" so just about half a year ago. On my Swtor account it even says: "Link Status: Good As your accounts are properly linked, you will be able to make purchases on the SWTOR website." And still I an unable to buy. I heard from people ingame they have the same issue and they had to buy from Steam. Thing is I've been playing this game with the oldschool launcher, successfully since 2012 and I should not be forced to uninstall and reintall the game and play on Steam all of sudden just to buy some coins! I've tried things like: Checking EA acocunt that it is active, has same email as Swtor webpage, even reset password on EA, flushed DNS in command promt, restarted router, try buy from other search engines like Microsoft Edge, Firefox, go with incognity etc. Nothing I do seems to work. Still get the same error message. Also doubled checked that the EA server are up and that my EA account is active. Please help me if you can. I play on PC, EU Darth Malgus server. Because calling the phone support said "we do not offer ingame support by telephone" and was told to use Swtor.com/support section which then led me to click on "help.ea.com" and eventually led me here to this page. I sent an email to mailto:[email protected]. Got "Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups". So calling them or sending an email ([email protected]) were of no help so please don't send me that copy pasted answer as a solution. Hi Returning player, cant login into my account. Last time i played i still had the Swtor authenticator app installed on my phone. That Phone got destroyed by driving over it with a forklift at work. Nothing from it could be saved. Now i wanted to replay the game, but i cant log in. Tried password reset, checked the name trough forgot the name link. Everything is a it should be. Phoned swtor support UK talked to them for 20 min. Did another password reset. Still cant log in. They said F2A is not active on my account. On the Swtor site the error is: Login failed, Try again. Just like the title says: after who knows how many years, I decided to return to *The Old Republic*. The problem? I can't recover my account—no matter what I do. My TOR account dates back to around 2014, meaning I used the now-defunct SW:TOR Authenticator. Anyway, I want to get back into the game, but I simply cannot access my TOR account; I miraculously remembered my username, but I have absolutely no clue what my password was. So, I tried creating a new password. The problem? For some **bleep** reason, the change won't go through, and I keep getting this message: "Account security key, display name, or recovery code is invalid/expired." What in the absolute hell have these idiots done now? After the 7.9b update, the game crashes for absolutely no reason after pressing play on the character select screen. I even lowered all of my graphics settings as low as they can go. Switched to windowed mode. ok EA i just spent several hours trying to rectify a situation in your game ... i purchased cartel coins so I could purchase in game item crew skill slot .... gave me two options individual or account wide. I purchased the account wide crew skill slot expansion from the market.... transferred it to inventory only to find it did not transfer.... so i tried one more time with individual crew skill slot same thing transfered from cartel to inventory and NOTHING! again.... thoough perhaps it was an auto matice thing that just unlocked the third crew skill slot so i tried to unlock it with the cartel button next to it and guess what... NOTHING! i spen actual money to buy your in game items and did not recive the ingame items from your cartel boards.... now im down 990 coind and 420 coins. BUT THATS NOT THE WORST OF IT. i tried to open a ticket only to find i now have to SUBSCRIBE in order to report issues? well im not subscribbed and with these bugs im very hesitant to waste any more ACTUAL money on a service i may or may not get so i had to come to this web site as directed by steam.... because they dont deal with anyting.... and create an account. and open op this issue... but its still just a bug report because even here on this web site EA tells me to open a customer service ticket in game but i can't becasue i am not subscribed. and your web site here has no ther options but to "start a discussion" about bugs.... I been playing swtor since just after release and its never been this bad with bugs and such. Hi guys, Never posted on a forum before, so I hope my post will be clear enough. Could you please let me know if anyone encountered an issue like this and if I should just give up or press on for a solution? And if I should press on, how to do it - moving forward? FOR TLDR: Played 7.9, got to some point in the Fortress with some story choices locked in already - had to quit for the day. When came back, was kicked in the playthrough way back, and (the most important part I cannot resolve) locked in choices were somehow bugged by "Game Update 7.9b" that run in the meantime/before I came back to finish 7.9 . Customer support refuses to help, even if provided proof of the recordings of my playthrough. For those that want and need more details. I was playing through the newest story update: 7.9 Legacy Reborn. The "2 main parts/missions" where you are locking in your story choices are as far as I know called: "7.9 Into the Shadows" - before landing on Khar Shian "7.9 Legacy Reborn" - everything after landing from the fight with Shauz Farr I was playing with my Jedi Knight and completed "Into the Shadows" with locked in choices. Then in "Legacy Reborn" I got to the point of my Knight being split from Theron and Lana - there I had to quit the game, so I did with thought of finishing later. In the meantime, there was SWTOR "Game Update 7.9b" - patch implemented. When I came back, the update loaded on, then I started the game and I saw it was imediately bugged as I was kicked back to the part of fight with Shauz Farr and also one of my companions was missing and I couldnt get it back at first (I resolved it later). I pressed on, cause I just thought it was a small bug that I resolved and then I noticed that my dialogues changed as if my choices that I locked in "Into the shadows" were reseted. Going fwd, with encountering more dialogues, this was confirmed. I have the whole playthrough recorded, because I have a tiny Youtube channel, where I am making story-based content, so I checked the original recordings and see it all changed. I just assumed, it must have been the latest SWTOR patch that happened in between my playthroughs, that bugged me up and reseted my original choices to some general LS Jedi Knight choices. I have contacted Customer support multiple times, sent them the game recordings, described in detail what has happened and only asked them (since they obviously did it already as they reseted my originally locked in choices) to reset 7.9 fully, so that I can play it anew and get the original choices back. On my end, I can only reset the second part "Legacy Reborn", and I need them to reset "Into the Shadows" - which is the part they bugged and reseted my original choices already and that´s why it´s messed up. They keep pushing me away with excuses that this cannot be done and in their words "we do not have the ability to manually restore, reapply, or alter individual story decisions, nor can we reset a specific story update such as 7.9 once progression has been recorded on a character. " Which I cannot accept since as mentioned...they did it already before with my playthrough? They literally changed/bugged my original choices with some patch that was implemented? Also, I have not finished 7.9 yet, as I still hope for help and resolution, so the mission is there wide and opened. I asked for help now via multiple tickets, but the Customer servise doesn´t even try to check this further with Tech team/support and they just shoot me away with excuses mentioned above and sweet talk on how they would like to help me if they could... Note: I am receiving response each time from the same Customer service agent, which on one hand is fine since they know the situation already, on the other - I can´t shake away the feeling they would be able to help with this if they just tried and went further to ask for the fix, and maybe someone else could help. When I asked if it can be please moved to some Tech. team for the fix, I was again just shooed away. This has very much messed up my character story that I have for years and years and have a clear path for her, as well as the videos that I planned to put on Youtube with this specific outcome - with the choices I originally made. Is this really the end for me and I can´t get the fix that they should do as they messed up my original choices? Or, is there another way to get some real help with this? Repost- original post marked as spam, though I don't know why. tl; dr - My WIN 7machine crashes during play and freezes the whole computer even though it meets minimum reqs and has no issues with other games. I recently installed SWTOR on my WIn 7 home premium 64-bit system. At anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour or so into play, the game will randomly (to me, anyway) freeze, and freeze the entire PC with it. Even CTRL+ALT+DEL will not work. At that point, I have to hard reset the whole system. This happens in conversations, cutscenes, combat, after combat and just moving around the environment. I've been playing the game on and off since release but had some pretty significant hiatus periods, and an especially long one since 2018/2019. After getting the inspiration to play again recently, I wanted to get one of the bundles from the Store to kick things off, but was told by the website that there was an issue with the account (mind you I can log into the game perfectly fine and play). Going into the account settings, the issue appears to be that the SWTOR account is linked to an inactive EA account. I vaguely remember losing access to the EA account I initially bound my SWTOR account to, and I'm fairly sure that the email associated with the EA account in question no longer exists. The question now is: How do I go about fixing this? All SWTOR related mail goes to my new email and I use the associated password for logging into the game, so should I theoretically be able to log int o the account as well (assuming I can remember the username)? Hey guys, I'm having a really weird issue. I finally installed my new 1TB HDD today, downloaded the game, created my account, and everything seemed to work fine. I have been working with SWTOR support about never receiving my one time password after sign on. I have had them change the email address to 2 different working email account and I never get the password. It doesn't go to spam or any other folder. Something must be wrong with my account, like being inactive or something, so that it never ever tries to send out the email. I was a player when the game first came out and have have a max level character that I do not want to lose. So I would like to somehow get this working. Hello, I’ve been unable to log in to SWTOR since June 26. The issue persists as of today. When running nslookup login.swtor.com, I get “Non-existent domain” on multiple DNS servers (including 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8). This indicates the problem is on the server/DNS side, not on my end. I have already tried: Reinstalling the game/launcher Flushing DNS cache and resetting network settings Checking the hosts file (it’s clean) Testing with different DNS providers Additionally, the same login issue is confirmed by other players (including my friend), which suggests this is a widespread problem. The server status page shows green indicators for game worlds, but the login service is effectively down.
