Character Requires Rename Issue

Hey guys, 

I haven't been on SWTOR in quite awhile, so I heard about the server merger/switches and all that. I went to play my character and it said, "Requires Character Rename" so I logged into my account on swtor.com and I don't have an option to rename my character. I have a free character copy option but that's it. My character is still there, I know the name, level, class, all that. Can I get some help with this? Or is my only option to delete my character and start over on the new servers? 

Also, I am FTP. Not a subscriber. So therefore I can't send a ticket to support, apparently.

    some character names will be taken by other people with more active characters with the same name from a different server, i believe there is a 90 day inactivity timer for that character, your account status will also be taken into account and any time on the character as well.

    you get free renames to any of your characters that don't have names as soon as you log into the game, the character selection screen will prompt you which ones are invalid and how to change them.

    When you log into the launcher and get to the character select screen there should be a rename flag on that character as mentioned by Hoverael, if this isn't the case can you provide a screenshot.
