Follower Unavailable: Cannot launch a KotFE Chapter

So, I'm in Chapter 5 of KotFE; getting ready to talk with Lana and collect tools to repair my ship. I went to the Fleet to sell stuff/repair and summoned Lana to give her a gift. Now when I select "PLAY" from the mission log, the "LAUNCH" button is gray-ed out and it says that a required follower in unavailable at this time. How do I get back into the quest? I've unsummoned Lana, summoned other followers but nothing works. Help... I've also submitted an in-game ticket, but I figured I'd ask here as well. Thanks for any assistance.

Tried the repair/reinstall; no dice. Even tried sending all the companions on crafting missions, hoping that when they returned it would reset -- unsuccessful as well.
On a hunch I used the bonus item to summon Nico. Worked like a charm. Was able to Launch and play Chapter 5.
Thanks for the efforts at assistance. Much quicker than any response to my game ticket.

Hello @Keviant

Try to go to your ship and see if it works there to click on play, are you using any of the companions for crafting for the moment?

Try restarting the game and try to see if repairing the game makes any difference.

I've tried returning to the ship and no one is crafting. How do I repair the game?

Run it as admin,

when don just start the game to see if that changes anything.

I have exact same issue. Tried the link above to fix with new launcher. Didn't work. I had already used my Niko token and now I don't have Niko either as companion. Still cannot get back into chapter 5. Am at a stand still so any other options?

Have tried hitting play on ship on fleet and on latest planets. Have sent all companions out on tasks. Had Nico before the launcher fix so can't send him out. Frustrating. Help appreciated

Got stuck and couldn't play. I used the Nico-charm and then I could play again. Very grateful that you posted a way of solving it.
