Hardware or game issue?

Hey all, been having some problems with the game. I recently reinstalled the game to play again after not being on in a bit. Download and everything went smoothly, logged in, checked out my main toon...

    So, after dialing back the settings for shadows in game, I've had multiple 2-3 hour sessions without any crashes or blue screens. I'm kicking myself for not trying something this simple already! Since I haven't been having any issues, I'm gonna mark this solved for now. Thanks for the input and assistance you provided!

If you are recording 117 as well as 116 , downclock the card and see if it persists

Swtor cannot be the cause of a bluescreen , but it can be the trigger which is what will be occuring here

Below is the Microsoft details on 116 and 117 , if it isn't driver related it is usually hardware, whether that is temp, voltage or something else is the hard part to work out i'm afraid.

"Game has a CTD after around 1.5 hours of play, and a BSOD upon relaunching the game. If I just restart my computer after the CTD, the blue screen doesn't happen."

If the driver has fallen over completely, it is isnt surprising to see a BSOD occur when trying to relaunch a game immediately, hence why on reboot it doesnt happen.

The temps almost always remain below 60C for the entire duration of gameplay, even during and after crash, and never really spike much higher than a a few degrees over 60 when they do rise, so I don't think it's that, and the GPU isn't really that old. I suppose the PSU could be the issue, it's the oldest part of the system, but I don't have a sure way to check that right at the moment. I really don't know what driver issue it could be unless there's some bug with the driver that gets triggered by something with SWTOR, as I've triple checked all the drivers I know to check.

    Wish i had a simple solution on this for you

    trying a downclock on the card to see if it has an effect is worthwhile 

    Also start turning things off in swtor settings like AA , shadows etc one at a time in case can narrow down the trigger, not a solution but even finding a way to stop it will be a good step forward at present.

    I gather there are no things like overlays like (raptr ?) being injected

      I'll give the downclock option a try today and start going through the game settings. I got rid of Raptr not long after I got the card because I found it more annoying than useful. There's no other overlays on the game right now.
