How recently have you played with these characters ?
It is possible for example if these characters where on a server that was merged, and a character already existed on the destination server , those characters where auto flagged for rename when merged, I still have 6 or so characters flagged for a rename from this
Literally the week of the KoFE release. I logged in and emptied my mailbox on all my characters and transferred them to another server to play with friends.
And I had characters from merged servers but they were <character name>_[three characters or something]. These renames, however, are YTT[maybe 7 letters].

About a similar issue. But the solution is "just pick another name". I don't want another name, I want the name I used. Because it's the name I picked. It sounded legit. I created an entire Bio using that name. I put effort into it...I didn't just roll my face across the keyboard.
It's like if the Government were to decided they didn't like your real life name and ordered you to change it if you want to continue being a citizen. You'd be pissed off and want to know why...
If it's a glitch in the Transfer Process, then cool, please fix it so I can use the name I had. If it's because CS arbitrarily decided those names weren't appropriate to the Star Wars universe (lol, have you seen some of the names officially used? HOW ARE YOU EVEN SUPPOSE TO PRONOUNCE THEM?!). Then I want to know why.What's the point in me coming up with a new name if it'll just be flagged AGAIN as "unfit".
I created a new character on a server where I had the same name but had transferred the char to another server.
I could not use that name. And it's Tatica. I have that name on 4 servers. So no clue why I couldn't name another character that.
I think maybe some things in the name dept. are just broken?
Same rules apply on transfer to a different server , if a character exists with the same name already the character being transferred will be flagged for a rename.
As per here
- If your character name is already taken on the destination server, your character will be transferred and assigned a temporary name. You will be prompted to choose a new name for the character when you log into the new server.
It didn't get flagged. That's the issue.
I transferred all my characters and not one of them needed a rename. I even RAN AROUND on my main (which is the one who's name I'm having issues with) on the NEW server.
I come back 5 days later and my two Jedi are flagged for rename.
And when I go to pick the name I had it says "Invalid name". It's been ages since beta, but I'm pretty sure it actually said if the name was taken. And "Invalid" was for names like "Luke", "Vader", and other names that were found in the Star Wars movies.
