Lag Spike followed by Sound Crackle, can't play game.

For the past 2 weeks. I have been dealing with a constant, every 5 minute Lag spike, frame rate drops, followed by the sound slowly degrading into static where the all sounds become crackly and disto...

Maybe worth checking temps as well (say with hwinfo)what you describe can be thermal throttling.

When themal throttling occurs, performance is affected as the system tries to lower temps, once the temp lowers, performance comes back until the temps raise again and so on.

Can also open task manager and see if any other process is taking the CPU % as well
