Well, yeah. In hindsight it is a bit misleading of me calling it a crash in the title. The launcher process exits (So it gracefully exits, but doesn't log or prompt the user in anyway to indicate "why".) with status code 2 as seen in procmon. This usually indicates a problem with permissions or access to resources, but it's up to the developer writing the specific system call.
Still not at my computer right now, but I can do another event capture with procmon and upload it here, if it's of any interest/use.
mioght be worth dropping the video driver back to 472.12 , seems 496.49 has some issues https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/472619/geforce-49649-grd-feedback-thread-released-102621/

I will format the C: and reinstall windows 10.
Right after, I will reinstall SWTOR.
-----------------
Question: Is it better to install SWTOR through Origin or Steam?
I have a SWTOR account since the game was released and have been using Origin until now.
----------------
I hope it's going to work

try this first you just lose updates https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html
origin or steam or standalone , if you have steam you get steam achievements , steam updating is different too

I just saw this post.
Same problem.
This is probably a problem with the new processors.
This is the only common point.

ASUS hasn't released the bios version mentioned in that press release they had. Will come back to it whenever it's released and I've managed to flash 🙂

For what it is worth I have also had this launch-to-crash issue on a fresh install of windows with the new 12700kf in windows 10. I suspect it must have something to do with how 12th gen works with the swtor at present.
