Re: Can't launch SWTOR on WIN11

I launched the game after a 7 year hiatus and had the same issue. figured it was graphics related so went into %localappdata%/swtor/swtor   and changed my clientsettings.ini file 

from

D3DFullScreen =true

to

D3DFullScreen =false

Launched with no trouble then.    Not sure if this has been tried or not but worked for me. Hopefully it will work for some of you.

this worked for me.
But i had also edit the resolution in this file to my native ones, because they where to big.

Thank you so much.  I reinstalled DirectX and there it was, all fix.  Thanks again!

Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time 

Copy the following in to the text box and press ok 

%localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

Open the client_settings.ini file in notepad and ensure the following are displayed within 

Fullscreen = false
D3DFullScreen = false
RefreshRate = 60

Check NativeHeight, NativeWidth, Height and Width ( all 4 ) match your monitor resolution.

Save and close the file.
Start the game as normal.
Change graphic settings within the game as desired.

Installation of the DirectX Runtime Environments worked for me.

although the file you linked needs to be run after extraction the link in the known issues sticky does not

Your post is a few years old now but I still wanted to say thank you as changing that one thing got the game working for me on Win 11
