The repair is only enabled if it detects missing files , if it doesnt well you cant run repair

Hi @proxos666 ... none of that helped. My system didn't crash during the installation. It was a clean install, and it didn't work. I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, still didn't work.

Another message talked about an older DirectX installation package, I downloaded that despite having the latest DirectX 12 and latest video drivers etc..

maybe best to install via steam for now , its a different launcher

Is the launcher issue still being investigated?

I've made the (temporary) switch to Steam, but I prefer to use the "regular EA/Origin launcher". And uninstall steam again.

The normal launcher is not working, even after trying these "sollutions".

I hope but i don't think so.

The support told me, that only 2 PCs were affected and asked me to remove "all security stuff".

I 'm playing LotRO now :-)

im having the same issue with the launcher when i go to hit play nothing happens i have resetted my pc a dozen times and everything to get it to work and i never had this issues before the new launcher update

Nothing happens when you click on play or the play button is grayed out:

• This usually means that an external application (like an antivirus) is stopping the launcher from running the SWTOR game client. This launcher was a big upgrade and sometimes antiviruses see these differences on game executables and block them. Most antiviruses offer “exclusions” or “exceptions” that you can add to whitelist applications. Usually, these options are found on settings.
• Once you go to your antivirus settings, add the exception/exclusion and make sure you add your SWTOR install directory to this list. This will make sure that you can run the game client without an external application stopping it.
• The usual install directory is on C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic
• If this doesn’t work, then a full uninstall and a reinstall will be needed.

and if you go into the game folder there is a gamefolder if you can provide the launcher log there too 

last official response here was https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/New-Game-Launcher-is-now-live/m-p/11971420#M95460 and it is not something they are having success replicating to fix , so need to consolidate system info and logs to look deeper

I hadn't read your post and that of the forum yet. The hyphen has almost certainly been my problem.

For those with pressing play and nothing happens

Some have found they have needed to re-install directx https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

I re-installed DirectX, took an exception in Windows Defender, re-installed the launcher, got all Windows updates - it still didn't work.

I tried out 3 different PC with a freshly installed Windows 10, Windows 11. No firewall or security stuff installed.

you need to follow 

• Send an email to support@swtor.com and in the subject line include "New Game Launcher Issue".
• Send us the host.developer.log file so we can see what issue you are facing. C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Launcher\ on Windows
• Include the error message/code you see on the launcher itself
• Include the launcher version you are using (can be found under settings)
• Include your account name 

It seems that the launcher starts a webserver on a random port somewhere about port 50000.

After this, it uses an javascript framework which tried to access http://127.0.0.1:50474/lib/angular-sanitize.min.js (50474 is the random port number).

This http access results in a "403 error" (forbidden) which means, that the build-in webserver of the launcher:

- has no rights to access the angular-sanitize.min.js ressource

- doesn't grant access to this ressource

This should be very easy to fix...

guess you need to work out why its being blocked , cant hurt to reset your tcp stack using netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt in a elevated command prompt

My launcher works. I did a search in my host.developer.log for "angular" and "sanitize"

Only result that came up is the following:

CONSOLE - ERROR - Error: [$sanitize:badparse]   (and from here on several more logging lines with details about angular.min.js as the source code)

I have seen this error mentioned by other users, so i guess everyone has this, and it's harmless/not an issue.

Maybe in your case this http access into localhost is blocked by security software, or anti cheat software from online games.

This is not the issue he described.

I can reach the http server on this port. HTTP error 403 means, that the http server decided to block access for this ressource.

It's not related to the TCP stack, the firewall, Windows Defender etc.

And - as i told 2 oder 3 times before: There is no security software / anti cheat software installed.

Maybe it 's an issue with the German version of  the game or the German version of Windows. A asked dozens of my friends - no one was able to install the game. Everyone is running in the same problems.
