Regarding SWTOR Fallen Empire Changes.

I just read that all the gear will be useless for droids etc.

So, what will happen to all the gear it currently has equipped?

I used a bunch of my Basic Commendations to upgrade the gear.

Will I get my Basic Commendations back or must I pay credits to remove the mods so that I can put them in other gear?

The droid gear will get converted as per here along with crafting materials as well.

All Droid gear will be changed to a "Valuable Droid Part" which you can sell to vendors for credits.
