Stuck on Splash Screen SWTOR

Hello,

I recently downloaded SWTOR for the first time last month, and I still cannot get it to run. I have checked various sources and tried several different methods on how to fix this issue. To my disappointment, none have prevailed. I have downloaded and reinstalled it a second time, and still no luck. I also tried to delete the bitreader folder, but still no go. I even tampered with the launcher file changing a value from false to true, still nothing. I have even just tried running it and walking away for several minutes to hours, and nothing. I really want to play this game, but I am slowly becoming more and more disappointed. Although it is 2017, I assume people still play this?

If any kind soul happens to come across this post and can help me out, I would sure appreciate it.

Thank you graciously.

I apologize for the late response.

SWTOR is up and running! What did the trick was the resolution: changing it to 800x600.

Thank you for all of the insight and feedback! I am confident that if I have any more problems, I can refer to the guidance that is stated in this chain.

Thank you so very much again, and I am enjoying my SWTOR experience!

Try a game repair initially and ensure the antivirus and firewall have exceptions for launcher.exe and swtor.exe

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner.
If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pulldown on the top right and select settings, then press repair.

Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut,
select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher

otherwise can you provide a dxdiag per this link

In addition to what @proxos666 suggested, could you describe exactly what you're seeing and what happens when you try to launch the game?

You say it's stuck on the splash screen, so I'll assume it's something along the lines of this: You start the swtor launcher, log in successfully, hit play, the launcher disappears and brings up the game client, after a black screen for a few seconds the splash screen loads with the rotating icon on the lower right, but it never progresses from there.

Is that accurate to what you're experiencing?

I am going through the same thing. What you just described is exactly what is occurring. I deleted the Bitraider folder but the problem still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case initially when you start swtor and it is on the splashscreen , press ALT + Enter keys and take the game to window mode , see if this has any effect.

Thank you for your reply. I found the problem. It was a two fold issue. One was the display setting. It was too large, i,e, 800x600, the other was my Geforce Experience needed to download the latest update for that game. Once I applied everything, it was smooth as molasses. I now look forward to diving in to the world of SWTOR. Once again thank you.
