You need to remove the physical key before attaching the mobile key , this link should help
Disk install if it has issues first thing to do is close the launcher, delete the file called retailclient_swtor.version then start the launcher.
if that doesnt resolve then use the repair utility at this link
the issue as far as registering my phone comes from the phone application refuses to accept a code with an 8 in it. as for the launcher, I have already downloaded the game so I cannot test this method, however it is not likely to work as the issue was the client could not connect to the servers to even check its version status.

Ok ensure you have the app made after Jun 2015 as per the link.
As per the link you dont even need to use the swtor application, it is fully compliant with the RFC 6238 so google authentication etc works just the same.
fully familiar with the old launcher unable to connect under certain conditions, one of those 2 methods would of fixed it.
