@proxos666I have just tried again.
I went to https://account.swtor.com/user/info
Changed my email to [me]@googlemail.com
Pressed save
Got the green success message
Nothing changed, email is still [me]@yahoo.co.uk
(I tried using Firefox on my pc, and Chrome on my laptop)
have you checked that gmail mail box for a email to confirm the change
- 6 years ago@proxos666 Yes. No new emails.
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
ok the web site will "always" say success on the email change, it then sends an email to confirm the change
have you checked the spam folder on gmail ?
- 6 years ago@proxos666 I have. No new emails.
Just to double-confirm.
My SWTOR email address is: [me]@yahoo.co.uk
My gmail email address is: [me]@gmail.com
My EA email address is: [me]@gmail.com
I am changing my SWTOR email address to: [me]@googlemail.com
(The string inside [me] is identical)

CS said there are no issues with mail validation at present.
maybe try adding a dot in the [m.e]@gmail per https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7436150?hl=en
They seem to think that email has to have been used elsewhere
- 6 years ago@proxos666 Tried with Firefox on my pc, and Chrome on my laptop. No new emails.
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
CS can only suggest trying an email that isn't a gmail account ( in case there is some weird filter going on) as they are unable to see any issue from their side.
@proxos666I already have, with a [me2]@ymail.com. I've just tried with a [me3]@hotmail.com, with Firefox on my pc, and Chrome on my laptop. No new emails.
(Checking all emails accounts and all folders, inc. spam)

CS are at a loss at present, maybe dont try for a full 24 hrs and see ?
- 6 years ago@proxos666 Did you mention that I've been trying to resolve this since the 19th? I don't think waiting yet another 24 hours is going to make any difference. This is something they need to fix their end. The issue is not me.
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
Yes i did mention you have been trying for a week , they say there is nothing on their end to be fixed.
edit - they can also still see tickets open, and likely will involve a callback
- 6 years ago@proxos666 Ok. Thank you for your help, I do appreciate it.
I'm going to try changing the SWTOR email address to my work [me]@bigww.co.uk address. I have full access to the mail logs for those account, so I will be able to see all incoming emails there.
I would assume that if the issue isn't with SWTOR and their system is in fact sending out the validation email to me, I will see it arriving at my mail server in the logs. - proxos6666 years agoHero+
worth a try i guess, only other thing i can think of is a relay mail server somewhere hiccuping , just odd with so many domains but idk
- 6 years ago
@proxos666As expected, no incoming mail in the mail logs.
As a techy myself (software developer for 10 years), I know we don't like to think our own systems are at fault. But in this case, I really don't know how much more evidence they need... - proxos6666 years agoHero+
Normally if an issue with the system there is more then one person , keeping an eye out for any other posts with similar issues
will revisit this tomorrow when more are at work to see if any others have thoughts on what is going on here
Galway are at work on Monday but Austin office is closed for a holiday, so studio side isnt available til Tuesday

In essence, all I really want is to be able to play my character past level 20. I don't really care how the CS team achieve this, I just want to be able to play. I'm looking forward to today being the day that they finally allow me to play... Day Eight.

- 6 years ago@proxos666 I don't suppose you have an update on the status? Even if it is just "We are looking into this for you now".

Day Nine
As support have insisted multiple times that the issue is local to me, that there are zero issues their end, I thought I would test that theory. I've created a new free account, logged in, validated my email without issue, played the game, and successfully changed the email address associated with my account without issue.
I think it's time that support start to take my issue seriously. The issue is with my account on their system and not local to me.
I have the same problem. Although last week the message includes a "skip" button. Today, there is only "validate" and I can't play my character. I think there is an issue on their end. It can't be just the two of us, right?

All depends on what you have tried so far. There is a lot of stuff you can try yourself before getting to my state of desperation.
The obvious question is have you tried validating your email address using the in-game popup? Is it the case that you don't receive a validation email?
First try the easy stuff such as clearing browser cache, then trying this link (https://account.swtor.com/user/validate/initiate) on multiple browsers on multiple devices.
If that doesn't work, what happens when you try changing your email address associated with your SWTOR account? You should see a green confirmation to say "A confirmation email will be sent to the address you've entered shortly."This is the message I DO NOT receive when trying to update my email address.
@JamesWinstanley Thanks for the quick reply. True, I didn't clear my cache... But everything else you mention, I have tried. And I have used the in-game popup and have not received any emails. I tried to do it directly using the link in the pop-up, which takes you to the profile section where you have to change your preferred email. Didn't work. I tried it on Chrome and MS Edge, same thing.
Regarding the picture, I can't exactly remember, but I am pretty sure I just get the message "Your account has been updated". Haven't received any emails. I will try by clearing my cache an then I will see. But honestly, I don't think clearing my cache will help in this matter. Maybe I am wrong...
Sorry, I should have written all I did before commenting on your post...
- 6 years ago@Slickbobi No worries.
For me, the biggest indicator of there being a real problem is when trying to change the email address in our profiles, we don't get the "A confirmation email will be sent..." message after we press save. On my free to play account I can change the email address without issue. - 6 years ago
I have a free to play account... My issue is with that one... 🙂

@JamesWinstanley Is there any way to contact EA support directly?
@proxos666 Hello, I see you have some info... Are you in contact with the EA support?
