Why can't we loot credits after 1m limit instead of it going to escrow?

Pretty much the title. I remember before whichever update (likely the F2P + Pref changes) that we can still loot mobs regardless of reaching the credit limit, and have the credits go straight to escrow. Why change this? Is it to nerf credit farmers?

If so then it sucks, especially if I'm in a grouped instance.

  • Hey,

In the past my excess credits would go into escrow.  Recently (as a preferred player) when I hit 1 million credits it won't let me loot any more credits and says that I'm over credit cap.  I'm not sure why the excess doesn't go into escrow as it has in the past?  I can see that I already have ~3.5M in escrow from playing and reaching the cap credits before.  Is there a recent patch that restricts credits going into escrow from looting?  I've tried searching and haven't found anything on the web or in the past patches.

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • I'm a preferred player and I also have this problem. I wasn't sure if this was a feature or a bug.

    This article says the following:

"As a Free-to-Play player, you have a Credit cap of 1 million Credits. Anything you earn over that is held in Escrow."

I interpret looting as "earning" in the context of this game. If it doesn't count, the article should be updated to reflect this.

@Belgorad Have you learned anything new yet? If this is indeed a feature, I wouldn't mind subscribing, but I also don't want to subscribe over a glitch if that's the case. 😛

Edit: I just discovered what Legacy Storage is. I went to legacy storage on the fleet and put all my credits there.
