The thing about the Kyro “crunch”, and every “crunch” that has preceded it, is that it does eventually ease to the point of not being an issue anymore.
I know it’ll sound unbelievable, but I knowMasterSeedy agrees that the Kyro crunch is not a big deal anymore for a large number of end game players. I’ve got just shy of 2000 of each Kyro type and my entire roster is g12 (other than the newly released characters, but they are all g11 with only the 7* gear pieces not applied).
New characters needing fewer Kyros will allow most players who play consistently and engage with all game modes to get decent rewards to reach a point where they begin to build a stockpile. It might not happen in 3 weeks, but eventually it will.
I remember threads on the old forums suggesting that there was a “crunch” for all of the following things:
- Zetas
- Omegas
- mk3 ability materials
- credits
- ship credits
- mk3 carbantis
- mk5 stun guns
- mk3 stun cuffs
- training droids (seriously)
Some of those are just plain laughable now. One day the Kyro “crunch” will be behind you.

Concur. Every bottleneck is frustrating until it is not.
I'm not trying to encourage people not to care or to tell people that they shouldn't feel what they feel. This game isn't for everyone. It takes a long time to achieve some goals. If the game is more frustrating than fun for you, then... there are other games. The whole point of a game is to have fun.
But if you are having fun AND having frustration over Kyros, then DarjeloSalas and I want you to have hope. This too shall pass, like the other bottlenecks before.

This is just BS. Look, first you talk about how many kyros you have stashed, but then you say you have zero reliced characters. THAT'S why you have so many kyros!! Are you kidding me!? If you actually relic anyone, like basically every other player does, and like you need for several game modes, you will have none and need many, many more.
End game, like VERY end game, maybe, but everyone else (like 98% of the playerbase) needs a ton of these.
Where do you see newer characters needing fewer kyros??? It's newer characters that need the most.
Also the last big crunch thing was carbantis. You say they are laughable now???? Are you f-ing kidding me!? I'm over 4.5M GP, and still need a couple thousand of those. It's still a crunch. You need 200 just for G8 level of CRex. They are NOT a joke, and we even get them in the daily challenges now.
IF kyros were added to daily challenges, it would be less of a pain.

Darjelo was not saying they have no relics.
They said that all their toons had reached g12 -- but they didn't mean that none had gone beyond g12. G12 is the minimum here, not the maximum.
The point here is that once your toons are at g12 they only need 100 kyros each. So more recent toons that require 400-500 Kyros are 75% to 80% done once they reach g12.
This means that they can safely leave toons unfinished at g12 if those toons aren't important for anything (like a raid or TB Ops mission or whatever), and then when new requirements drop any toons not already relic'd need AT MOST 100 gyros.
If you have a lot of relic toons and all the rest are g12, and then you have a stash of Kyros, then you're ready on short notice to bring up multiple toons at once.
In other words, at Darjelo's position in the game, Kyros are still needed, but they're no longer something to worry about. The same is true for me.
As for this:
Where do you see newer characters needing fewer kyros??? It's newer characters that need the most.
The Bad Batch were marquee toons who needed 500 Kyros each. They were released a couple years ago. in the past year I don't think there have been any marquees that need 500, only 400 (mostly) or 300 (IIRC there were a few of these). Likewise we have had non-GLs that required 700 in the past, but not recently.
Yes, recent toons require a lot of Kyros, but they've backed off a little compared to the extremes of a couple years ago.
Adjustments like this are never enough to make people happy, but they signal that CG is taking the issue seriously and is looking at how they want to handle that portion of the game's economy. Usually this is the beginning of a long process that eventually leads to trivializing something that was formerly a bottleneck.
Darjelo and I only wish to communicate that as bad as it feels to be stuck behind a bottleneck, this one, like all the others before, will eventually fall. And I know it doesn't feel like it should matter to you, but endgame players managing to trivialize a bottleneck is the first step before CG sweeps the bottleneck aside for everyone. If the resource can no longer be used to gate access to the new shiny, then CG will invent a new barrier to hold back the endgame players and encourage us to spend money. Once they do that, the old barrier becomes unimportant and is reduced.
At some point CG will release relic10 or whatever new feature, and it will depend on some new thing you have to earn (or buy) and Kyros will be made more accessible. We've been trying to show you the signs which indicate progress towards this longed-for day.
Have hope, Padawan. Have hope.
