Playable Characters

Won't happen bud, it's the devs way of getting us to farm certain factions, to certain star levels. To fully utilize all characters and factions etc.

Although some events do have tiers where you can use anyone

Plus you will find as your roster expands, that using a team together is far more effective than mixing them. For instance take your NS/Jedi team against a team of just nightsister, with all characters in both teams 7☆ G12, and I'd bet NS win hands down

It's not about players' choice, it's about money. I would unlock bb8 with zKylo only but they need to sell First Order packs.

Interesting that you stopped there. If you were that irritated by these things then level caps should also be removed.

With that then what's the point? Like you say you could complete bb8 with a zylo. Is that how you want what is essentially a collection game to be? Would you have been as happy if jtr or cls could have been unlocked by 5* toons? I think not

I prefer to make my own choices about which characters to run in any given battle. That’s why I have a lot of them.

Then don't do the event and only do GW and arena, there are no character restrictions in those modes

You must be new to this game right? They made the requirements not only to make money, but to limit the number of players to get it. Usually the legendary characters are very good, and thus devs don’t want them to be “given” to everyone for free. The Marquee events give you 3-Star for free, but legendary gives you straight to 7 Star.

No, no it's not. Entry requirements are the choice of the proprietor of the Event.
That's like going to a tennis club that has a "white tennis wear only" policy, then complaining when you can't get in wearing luminous yellow. Or wearing trainers to a nightclub that has a "shoes only, no trainers" dress code & then being surprised when they turn you away.

If you haven't farmed the requisite characters to 7* yet, then why do you feel that you should be entitled to compete for the main prize? Everyone else who did take the time to farm them to 7* would be highly irritated!
Given that the purpose these Events is to give people a purpose & a reward for doing so, it would seem largely counter-productive to allow people, who have not done so, access to the reward.

Yes anyone that has those specific characters especially the legendary did farm them technically but the difference is many farmed them at an accelerated rate due to ptp vs ftp. The purpose of the game is for people to spend money nothing more. EA concerns itself about one thing making a profit. If there is not a profit to be made there will no longer be a game. So the purpose is to create events that get the player base excited enough to want to spend money because they do not want to wait and farm for an extended period of time. The purpose is not to appease any player by rewarding them. It is very simple and that is to entice people who feel the only way to play the game and be successful is to spend money.

Your example of the tennis club, etc is invalid. Those by no means have exceptions to the rule. This game does, by pay now and get everything you want or do not pay and get what you want at a slower rate. So the choice is not whether or when you farm a toon but if you are willing to buy a toon or not. Farming is not really in the equation.

The correlation you are making is not accurate. The tennis club, etc analogy does not make exceptions to the rule but this game does. It is not about who is willing to farm but about who is willing to pay. The game does not reward those who farms it rewards those who will spend money. Every player whether they are ptp or ftp farms for toons but those that spend money to accelerate the farming time are those that are rewarded.

EA does not care about who spends time in the game playing they care about who spends money and caters to those specific people. Their job is to create events that will excite people to spend money to have the new toy in the game. It is about making a profit and nothing more. Once the profit is no longer there the game will no longer exist.

As long as you understand that when deciding to play this game there should be no issue. I am ftp player so I understand it will take longer to achieve certain things in the game. I also have no issue with those that are ptp as they really have no affect on my game the way I chose to play. But it has to be clear that the game is catered to those that are willing to spend money and nothing more. Those who spend the most will be rewarded the greatest for their dollar spent not for the amount of time they farm in the game.
