Phoenix vs. Nightsisters ??

Clickbait, sorry. Although feel free to tell me which team you think would win when geared up and Zeta'd, because that actually IS relevant to my question.

Which is: I'm at a crossroads where I have both Phoenix and the Nightsisters geared up to G9. I have two Zetas ready and I'm building up to a third. While I'm doing so, I'm either going to gear Phoenix up to G10 or Nightsisters up to G10, and then dump all three Zetas on one team. The question is of course: which team gets the gear and the Zetas?

Phoenix has the better Zetas, I think. But Nightsisters hit a LOT harder (just the Acolyte alone, for God's sake!). They're both fun to play. I like them both enough to be willing to build them. But I can't (and shouldn't) try to do both at once!

Which direction would you go at this point? Phoenix or Nightsisters? Any rationale would also be great if you have any.

Thanks for your thoughts! You guys are a great resource, letmetellya. =)

  • depends on your focus. do you have any more input on what you are looking to get out of this decision.

Phoenix is good in TB and GW, and some light arena use with added bonus of being solid ships if used together.

NS are yet to be seen. DS TB? Arena they dont quite seem meta shaking but they seem to have their uses.

not sure anyone should build up either and dump 2 or even 3 zetas, without a very specific goal.

Fair enough. I already have game-changing Zetas zQui-Gonn, Zinn, and Zylo; I have pretty strong ones like Z2D2, zRaid Han, and zBarriss.

I COULD zeta First Order with three zetas, or I could zeta a bunch of separate one-offs like Vader, Cody, Cmdr Luke. I think some of those guys are less effective nowadays (not Luke, but I'm also not super charmed by his Zetas). In terms of my 'very specific goals' I might be a more casual player than you are, LOL. Because my very specific goal is to have fun and enjoy playing with a variety of different characters. I don't expect either Phoenix or Nightsisters to take me to the top of Arena... but I like having lots of different teams to get through TB and GW.

So those're my thoughts, if it helps...?

Well, IF I were deadset on putting zetas on one of those 2, I may go NS. But honestly, I'd wait for that also.
PHX squad is needed for TB, but I feel pretty confident that they can clear the PHX required nodes without zetas. I come pretty close, and some of my PHX squad is only G8. We are fairly confident a DS TB is coming, and it'd be a pretty safe bet that NS will be a required squad. Perhaps they can compete without the zetas, but no one really knows.
Honestly, I'd hold the zetas. CLS binds all things zeta is really solid, but if you don't use him, there's no point in using it. zJyn lead should be good for TB missions. Thrawn Ebb and Flow is a good zeta if you use him. That's 3 zetas right there. You know, if they're burning a hole in your pocket. :)

This is pretty sound. Although the long farm on the new NS, makes me think they will be more like resistance in TB, never required but extremely useful.
