Background error when Travelling (Sims 1 LC)

Hey! Could we get a fix for this? I’m playing on Steam, 1280 x 800, and this bug with the background occurs every time when travelling, I’ve also seen it happen on lilsimsie’s streams, and I also noticed there’s a black screen that happens every time when the image refreshes, like when going from the loading screen to the neighbourhood view, or when going from Old Town to Downtown for instance, and it’s quite jarring, and this never happened on the original Sims 1. Many Thanks! :)

  • this issue is still present with the latest patch (12.02.2025) installed, but now it's present only when displaying the travel picture, not when choosing the place to travel to on the map.

Yes, that’s true, the original game showed a black screen when the travel image displayed.

Ok. I had to scale through system options. How annoying...

As said here, all the lots will be clickable on resolutions 1280x720 and lower. This is annoying...

Very well, it didn't work unfortunately, but I discovered that the traveling bug only applies to the old town. The other sub-neighborhoods are fine. So yeah, that's annoying.

Thanks! Googling the resolutions reveals that the two original resolutions are:

    • 800x600
    • 1024x768

So the command line argument should look like this:

    • “-r800x600”
    • “-r1024x768”

I'll try it out and report back if they are good workarounds. The disk version didn't have this problem even with the widescreen patch...

You can set the resolution by doing something like “-r1080x720” in the command line arguments :)
