I've bought the legacy collection from Steam, and I can honestly say that it was the opposite for me. It was crashing a lot more before the latest patch. So I'm not sure why It worked well for some people before the patch, and other's it didn't 🤔

I also see you bought the game from the EA App. Maybe the Update didn't go all the way through on that version??

I just made a post and I'm getting crash to desktop with no error code at all. it's not just you ig

  • I'm getting the same problem too... I've never played, no save data. Sometimes it will open to the map, but once I click create-a-sim, it crashes

I've been trying to launch the game since yesterday. Occasionally it'll load all the way to a blank map with no houses, but immediately crashes if I click anything at all. Most of the time it will show the loading screen and then crash to desktop with no error or anything showing.

This is absurd. I own the game and all the expansions on CD and have been playing a cracked "Windows 10/11 compatible" version on my computer but foolishly thought that an official re-release would be less buggy. Since I literally cannot play it at ALL, I think it's time to ask for my money back and go back to the cracked version.

i feel you on that, i bought my kid the sims 1 back in the day... then i got hooked and bought my own copy when the complete set was released. i figure as much money on the sims as i have spent over the past 2 and half decades, they can fix it and i can play. though i might seek out a hacked version in the meantime if they don't get it fixed soon.
