Small playable window on Sims 1 Legacy?

Hi all, I'm aware that this is a common issue but for me Alt + Enter does nothing -- it just sets the game to windowed mode but the screen resolution stays the same.

Every other fix I've come across on here/Steam/Reddit is so overconvoluted that I don't even understand how to do it. Can someone help me?

    The neighborhood stays small, centered over a black background. The game only fills the screen once you select a house.

    Thank you. It is such a weird inconvenience, I have no idea why they didn't rescale the neighborhood view along with the Live Mode view.

    You can rescale everything by going into the graphic settings and selecting either 1066x600 or 1364x768 and then reopening the game :)

    If you don't see this setting make sure to update the game!
