TS1 Legacy - No neighbourhoods on startup and crashes without warnings

The exact same thing is happening to me. Just bought a steam deck to play this game. I installed it, and there's a neighborhood with no houses. When I click to create a family, the game crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but nothing is working. cc: puzzlezaddict who was able to help someone else in a different thread to see if they can help us here!
