Do you have more then one graphics card? A integrated and dedicated one? If so make sure your dedicated card is the one the game is using. It can sometimes revert back to the integrated card if you don't add it to your graphic card program.
Another cause could be Securom, especially if you are on Windows 10. Here are the instructions for removing Securom, make sure to follow all 3 steps! That is very important. If you get stuck and need help let me know.
