Don't abandon the neighborhood just yet.
One sign isn't enough to say it's not just a random glitch. If you've installed or uninstalled mods that affect lifetime wants, that could have potentially caused the problem and not corruption.
Plus, some people can do a bunch of things that cause corruption, play regularly, and be bored of the neighborhood before the corruption starts affecting game play.
