Help! Missing Sims 2 content

I've been playing sims2 Legacy fine and I've only played a couple of times but since January I've not been able to play at all. When I load the main menu there's missing pictures (see attachments) and neighbourhoods. When I click on the neighbourhoods there's no families or lots. I've also lost all previous families and lots I've made. I've tried the solution in a similar discussion  Missing Neighborhoods | EA Forums - 12126924. But this didn't work I had to try and undo it as it messed my computer up a bit. I've tried repairing and reinstalling but its still the same. Tried contacting EA several times but I've had no response it's been over a month. I've been waiting for an game update or something but there hasn't been any.

  • Strange. It looks like a lot of data is missing for some reason. Did you try renaming the Legacy folder (to something like Legacy.bak) and then loading up to see if the game regenerated everything properly? Also, I'm not sure how making copies of the neighborhoods from program files would have messed up your computer, all it should do is replace the existing neighborhoods. What exactly did you actually do?

    HeyNess02611,

if LadyGray01's tip doesn't work, try uninstalling the game again and cleaning up the registry. Then reinstall the game and see if that solves the problem.

    Kind regards

Thanks for the tip but when I renamed the folder it still the same. I copied the neighborhood folders from the program files and put them in the Legacy Folder in the documents folder.

Hmm. Do you have One Drive folders? Even if it's disabled, the game can still use the folders. Mine did. So on my computer I have a copy of the files in my documents, but editing those does nothing because the game isn't using them. There is another copy of all the game files in MYName/OneDrive/Documents, and that is the one my game uses. I figured it out after attempting to edit the neighborhoods in Documents and nothing changing. After editing the ones in the OneDrive/Documents folder instead, my game did what I wanted it to do.
