my game keeps crashing when i try to load my old saves

i put my old mods and saves in my new shiny sims 2 legacy as i had missed out on the UC back in the day and i wanted to own the new version before it might be gone again but my game keeps crashing and google says this is a mod problem? but the players say the game is chaos and its already been patched 3 times
