My game automatically updated once the patch came out. I hopped into Sims 2 thinking that I would be able to type again without having to copy paste everything into any text fields. And I still have the same issue. I cannot type only copy paste into the text fields. And I have also tried all the solutions that was passed around earlier for how to fix it and nothing works. Please EA/Maxis help me here

I haven’t downloaded the patch yet but does the problem happen if you start the game a second time?

So after I made the bug report I shut the game off and didn't use the computer for like 2 hours. Now when I am on the computer I opened Sims 2 Legacy Collection again and tried typing in a text field. I started with creating a family name and then trying to type in console and lastly tried renaming a lot. Nothing worked, I couldn't type in any text field. So it doesn't help restarting your game or your computer.
I know that restarting your computer isn't the same as shutting it down and opening up again but I just restarted my pc and tried typing in sims 2 again and I still can't type lol

Does this persist if you disable the following application settings?
If that doesn't resolve the issue, we would also like to know any of the information below as well:
Q: When you try typing in the text field, do you hear the Windows error noise?
A: No, no Windows sound or anything. Just my keyboard.
Q: Do you see the text insertion point (blinking cursor)?
A: Do you mean the vertical line that blinks when you click on a text field? If so, yes.
Q: Does switching from Full Screen to Windowed make any difference? Switching from Windowed to Full Screen?
A: No, made no difference at all.
Q: What happens if you use Alt and/or the Ctrl keys?
A: Nothing at all. Doesn't change anything.
Q: What happens if you Alt+Tab away, then back?
A: Nope, no difference either.
Q: What happens if you minimize?
A: Nothing, I still can't type.
Q: If you leave the game (quit), then launch again, does it start working?
A: No.

Did you catch the edit I made a few minutes after I replied:
Disable apps that come with overlays: Discord, Steam, etc.
Disable the Ea app in-game overlay (Settings > Application)
Disable Game Mode and Game Bar (Windows Settings > Gaming)
Answer is no for all of these suggestions. Nothing solves my issue.
You can turn off fast boot up in windows if you open search on the taskbar and type power and find the control panel power options and it should be the first tab on the top left and uncheck fast boot up. Then shutting down should behave like normal
