Playing the game without logging into the EA app

Hi!

How can I do this?  The other day, my internet went out, so I couldn't work.  I thought it was a great opportunity to play my favorite game!

But I couldn't because I couldn't log into the EA app (no internet) - I always use my desktop icon to open the game, but this time I was not able to.  I even tried to open the game through the exe file.

Any ideas for me?  Is this even a possibility to play offline?  Thanks so much!

Some of the others might be able to tell you better but im thinking unless you have the games on disks you wont be able to play w/ being online.

there is an "offline mode", but you need to be connected to the internet to access it... you'd think EA's mission statement is "be as inefficient & counterintuitive as possible" lol

supposedly if you were to enter offline mode while connected to the internet & stay in offline mode up to the next time your internet goes out, you'd be able to play without internet connection.

That is the case. I've played with my power and internet off, and played places that didn't have internet access, when I was already in offline mode. If I was online because I'd been using the gallery or something, then I couldn't play. It's infuriating.

I find it especially infuriating with Sims 2. Until Legacy and it's updates were put out, there was no reason ever for it to be online. And, barring updates because the game is now supported again, there is no need to be online. The Store Edition no longer exists, there's no DLC for it. There is no reason it shouldn't have a fully offline option imo.

Adding to that, unless they are disks that you've owned for awhile that are already registered, you won't be able to play. "New" disks are no longer registrable. Obviously, there are ways to make them work, but we can't talk about that here.
