Every time my sim tries to make any meal, at soon as they finish up, the meal deletes itself and then my sim ends up being 'reset'. Which is super annoying because it uses up the supplies so I keep having to order groceries without even getting any meals out of them. My sims have gotten close to starving if I didn't order a pizza.
Having exactly the same issue, sim cooks food and as soon it’s ready it disappears. He can only snack or order food. I played for a few hours in pleasentville and it was working fine but it’s just started happening on my new in Strangetown. Dunno if the neighbourhood matters

Is this happening in a neighborhood that was created after today's patch?
You'll need to move or delete the Neighborhoods folder in Documents -> EA Games -> The Sims 2 and a new Neighborhoods file will generate when you launch the game again. Be sure to delete the entire Neighborhoods folder rather than deleting the sub-folders within that file.
If so, could you provide an EA Error Report ID and DxDiag for tracking purposes?
It’s happening for me in Strangetown, not a newly created neighbourhood. It’s only started happening today so I don’t know if this is a new bug caused by the patch…
Since the update this started happening too me also, my other sim can cook but this one cooks then the oven opens and the food disappears! :(
I did this and now need to refurnish my house... BUT DID NOT FIX

I am having the same problem, i am in pleasant view and every time my sim makes food it disappears. Also if another sim makes food in the household my sim will then go thru a loop of sitting down to eat and then teleporting to the other side of the room.
Technically no it's happening to neighborhood and sims I was playing before the patch.
