Sims 2 Legacy : 'Application has crashed, application will now terminate.'

I have the same one but when I try to join a world it crashes every time 

same here. I was so happy when the announced the comeback of sims and sims 2. So disappointed right now. Paid enough money to be able to play again, even though I have all cd's from sims 2 at home...

also having this same issue it was fine yesterday but can’t even make it two minutes into gameplay now without it crashing 

Having the same issue, game loads fine, manged to make the game full screen, created a family in CAS, loading back into neighbourhood, and it crashed with the same message as everyone else, reloaded the game and was able to play with the family i created in CAS and afterwards no problems so far. However I did look through the files saved and mine came up with access violation, brought it through EA app, wish we could verify game files like steam

Do you know which files they were that were removed? I'm not planning to buy this on Steam

Mine just did this while I was playing on a vacation lot. The create-a-sim worked, but it's crashed twice now after placing my sim in a lot and sending her on vacation. For $60 AUD, I would have expected they worked out these bugs before hand! What is EA thinking by releasing broken games..... 

Yep - ridiculous I experience the exact same error and application crash right after create a family. Please fix this immediately EA!!! 

On my end, it kept crashing multiple times during the Create-a-Sim. I've looked for multiple ways to troubleshoot, but nothing would work. It just kept crashing. Until I stumbled upon a Reddit thread mentioning to turn off shadows in-game. Mine were on highest resolution.  Once turned off, it worked, game stopped crashing. Even turned medium resolution shadows and game keeps going. I've played for the past 2 hours and no issues since. 👌
